Colourful Kids Occupational Therapy (OT) is a private practice serving children 0 to 19 years in the Greater Vernon area, including Vernon, Coldstream, BX, Lumby and Armstrong in British Columbia, Canada. Services provided include assessment, intervention and/or consultation for children.
Services
All services may provided in home, in the community and/or through Telehealth (video conferencing, online, phone).
Assessments are dependent on the needs and goals of the child and family. An assessment usually involves observation, discussion with parents/caregivers and children, as well as standardized assessment(s). A typical assessment may run from 5-8 hours, dependent on each individual clients needs.
Intervention is focused on developing the child’s skills, modifying the activity(ies) or by adapting the environment(s) to promote function and optimal performance of an activity.
Parent, teacher or caregiver consultation and coaching, including education and collaborative problem solving with the therapist, may also be used as a means to support and enable children in achieving their goals.
Options for small group therapy may be available, dependent on the needs and goals of current children and families. Small group therapy may focus on self regulation, anxiety and dealing with stress, motor, social and/or emotional development.
Assessment and intervention occurs through activity and play, keeping children motivated, engaged and having fun!
